Some people with severe crowding will need to have teeth extracted to make room for tooth alignment. If you need to have teeth extracted as part of your orthodontic treatment, we will ask you to return to your dentist or to an oral surgeon for that procedure.

When permanent teeth are extracted, the goal of orthodontic treatment is to close those spaces while aligning the teeth.
