An ideal bite

What does an orthodontist look for in a perfect bite? Let’s take a look.

In a perfect bite, the upper jaw should be slightly wider than the lower jaw, and all of the upper teeth should slightly overlap the lower teeth. The upper front teeth should overlap about the top third of the lower front teeth.

The edges of the lower front teeth should touch the backs of the upper front teeth, not the gums. The upper and lower teeth should be aligned without overlapping or rotations.
